Description
Microcrystalline Cellulose 101 (MCC 101) is a highly purified, fine white powder derived from specially processed wood pulp. It is widely used as a binder and diluent in the pharmaceutical industry, known for its excellent compressibility and inert properties. MCC 101 is particularly well-suited for tablets made through direct compression, but it also performs effectively in wet granulation and roller compaction processes.
MCC 101 delivers consistent performance in formulations, enhancing the robustness of tablets by improving hardness and resistance to breakage without compromising disintegration. It offers superior flow and mixability, ensuring uniform distribution of each component within a tablet blend, which contributes to the consistency and reliability of final dosage forms.
Applications:
- Binder and filler/diluent in tablet formulations
- Disintegrant in low concentrations
- Carrier in particle size enlargement through granulation
Features:
- High compressibility and excellent binding properties
- Facilitates uniform distribution of active ingredients
- Chemically inert, contributing to the stability of formulations
- Enhances the mechanical strength of tablets
Compliance: MCC 101 meets all requisite pharmacopeial standards, including USP, EP, and JP, making it suitable for global pharmaceutical applications.
